We look on to the Magaliesberg mountains to the North.
They are older than Mount Everest in the Himalayas.
To the South are the Witwatersberg mountains which
shield us from the Highveld.

The most significant event in recent history was the
Battle of Nooitgedacht which was fought on the adjoining farm.
The famous Boer General Koos de la Rey vanquished the British General Ralph Clements on the 13th of
December 1900. To mark this historic event the farm
is named after him. He and most of his men were lucky to escape back to Pretoria.
