Activities

For the superactive there are plenty of activities nearby.

A kilometer up the road is Saddle Creek Ranch. Mike and Chyenoa offer excellent Western style horseriding.  They also offer quad bike rides and go karts on a race track.

No, we do not have any  lions on the farm. They were shot out in the Valley over a hundred and fifty years ago. This kitty lives in the Kruger Park. But if you want to see the real thing there are excellent game drives to view the Big 5 at http://askarilodge.co.za/ a few kilometers down the road.

If you want the real deal in clay or target shooting in a safe outdoor environment then Alf Theron is the man for you. See www.facebook.com/pages/Shooting-Fun/1426274384283632

Shelter Rock offers walking and hiking trails on the beautiful Magaliesberg Mountain. To limit damage to the environment the groups are kept small.  To make the trails accessible to all they have the only via ferrata in South Africa.  Phone Corry or Johan on 082-340-7378 for bookings.

If trout or fly fishing is your bag then Sundowner Adventures offer you both in Magaliesburg, just 20 minutes down the road from Clements Retreat. They are on 083-414-0391.

Also for the adventurous is the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour. See the scenery from the cliffs.

For a more restful activity a visit to the van Gaalen cheese factory is 15 minutes away. They also offer an excellent offroad mountain bike trail.

If you wish to see the Valley as God did take a balloon flight with Bill Harrop's aerial safaris. They're 10 minutes up the road.

Further afield are the  the Lion and Rhino Park,

de Wildt Cheetah and Wildlife Trust and the

Elephant Sanctuary.  Newly opened to the public is the Monkey Sanctuary where bushbabies, lemurs and even a spider monkey can be seen.

For those who wish to see where their ancestors lived Maropeng is just over the hill.

At Hartebeespoort Dam curios can be bought at the Chameleon Village.

For an even wider spectrum of activities in the greater Magaliesberg visit Unwind for details.

Many of our guests just want to chill out in the country.  The farm has about four kilometers of fence line and lots of roads and trails for those who want to walk and explore. Or talk to the birds.  The river trail is about a kilometer long. See The Gallery for pics.
